Oculus press Celebrates 20th year at Craftsmen's Fair Demonstrating at League of NH Fair, August 4-12, 2007 Mt. Sunapee Resort

Denise and Christopher founded The Oculus Press in 1987. Their first year at Sunapee was in 1988 making 2007 the 20th year. The Oculus Press' award winning Educational Display includes a print museum helping people sort through the different types of original prints: intaglio prints such as etchings, mezzotints, engravings, relief prints such as woodcuts and linoleum block prints, silkscreen and lithography. New examples of hand pulled prints by Durer, Miro, Dali, Picasso, Rembrandt (and others) have been added to the educational display that won the League's Best Educational Booth Award in 2002. Denise Moriearty and Christopher Morse hope to excite greater interest in original prints. In addition, all nine days of the Fair, they will demonstrate their color etching techniques. Denise's and Christopher's work in etching has enjoyed recognition in dozens of national print competitions and is in the collections of The White House, The Smithsonian Institution, Hunterdon Museum of Art, Springfield Art Museum, and the NH State Council on the Arts. Both artists will debut new work at the Fair.

"Between Denise and I, we have twenty one years of teaching experience. Denise works intimately and interacts with individuals while she demonstrates. While I demonstrate, I hustle a big crowd and am more of the game show host. By alternating our efforts, it will enable people with different learning styles to absorb the information that we are sharing. It will also enlighten people to the personality in our work. We were a successful demonstration team at six Craftsmen's Fairs: the 56th, 57th, 66th, 67th, 68th, and 73rd. We are looking forward to this collaboration again. We share much artistically and know our roles well for such a demonstration." said Morse. The Craftsmen's Fair is open from 10 to 5 each day from August 4th through the 12th.
